About Us_Goldens By Dezign

Who would thought that buying two golden retriever
puppies could change two lives forever? Sure, getting a
puppy generally means some minor lifestyle
changes...getting up at odd hours of the night to let those
little balls of fluff relieve themselves outdoor (instead of on
the carpet), making baby like chatter, going to local pet
supply store several times a week to pick up more puppy
food, and spending more on dog accessories, leashes
and such, than your last year's personal clothes budget!
But, what I am speaking of here is, MAJOR life changes.
What started out as a simple desire for my partner, Roz
and I, has now become a means of artistic fulfillment, as
well as hopefully a comfortable income to continue through
retirement.

After having the puppies home with us for less than a
week, I decided to build a website to showcase our collies
and our new golden retriever puppies. I made our personal
home site, Springdale Collies and Goldens . We have
slideshows, live video footage, and lots of stunning
photos on our site.

In September 2005, I discovered Cafe Press. After opening
several basic shops, in late October, we opened our first
premium shop, Springdale's Dogs by Dezign. Our first
store gave us the opportunity to do what we both like best..
design.

Roz is an avid photographer, a true artist behind the
camera, and she also enjoys design and writing. I like
graphic arts, playing with photo shop, and writing prose.
This first shop is primarily for pet lovers, it was easy to
create designs for this shop, as we are pet lovers
ourselves. We both had a lot of fun creating our Pun
Intended Line for the shop. Coming up with a play on
words for the breeds we used, and then creating a design
that would make the "Pun" come to life.

As we continued in our new designing career, we began to
expand into a completely different niche. I have always had
a fondness for writing my own inspirational quotations,
which I have used on many occasions over my lifetime. We
began to incorporate Roz's photography with my quotes
into collagelike designs. The keepsake boxes began
selling well over the holiday season, so the next step was
to open another shop to showcase them. Hence...
Inspirations of the Heart.

After several months, our golden retriever line in our Dogs
by Design store had grown to such an extend, that we
decided to open another store that would feature our
Golden Retriever gift merchandise only, thus the birth of
Goldens by Dezign!
